New Dewan

On Sunday Jan 25 Subud Greater Seattle members met to choose a new Dewan. We are grateful to David Lynch and Elisha Gullisxson, for their commitment these past two years to help the center grow as Chair and Vice-Chair.

See meeting minutes here.

The new committee is: Ramon, chair, Abideen Gunatilaka vice-chair, Sherwin O’Bar, Treasurer, Hadiyah Carlyle, Secretary and Hadidjah Gregory, Member at Large. Sherwin is continuing as Treasurer and has done a great job in working with the complex finances. The Dewan is looking forward to working with the members to continue the work for Subud.

Helper Development Event a Huge Success

By all account the Helper Development Day, Saturday, January 24, 2015, was a huge success with breakthroughs reported on both the Men’s and Women’s side of the Dewan and an increased sense of harmony. Hanafi Libman took a few photos. Thanks to all who participated. If you are having some challenging issues in your life, now is a good time to check in with the helpers, as they are ready to use new tools discovered during this event.

Benedict Herrman

Helper Development Day is this Saturday, January 24, 2015 All 6 Regional Helpers will be on hand, as well as 3 National Helpers to assist local helpers to deal with issues they feel are  important will be discussed and tested, with a likely emphasis on issues of trust and harmony.

Participants will meet together briefly at 10:00 AM, proceeding to quiet time at 10:15 and latihan at 10:30.  This will be followed by open (yet orderly) discussion & testing, open-ended in length, with a potluck lunch break.
This is one of those rare Subud opportunities that has the potential to have a lasting positive effect. Many folks are working hard, on their own dime, to make this happen, so your attendance is strongly encouraged.

Subud Lewes Wins!

St. Anne's School (Lewes)

St. Anne’s School (Lewes)

Subud Lewes came out as the top bidder of the former St. Anne’s School site in Lewes (UK, East Sussex County)  to repurpose the former school for community needs. A vigorous debate that attempted to portray the Subud organization in Britain and worldwide as a homophobic institution ended up with a decision by the County Council that there had been in fact a “robust bidding process which included consultation with the local community.”
