Hi to our dear Subud brothers and sisters south of the border.
Hope you all had a good Easter and are enjoying some of the fine weather that we have been experiencing in south-western British Columbia.I am seeking your assistance in getting the following information to as many as possible in the Pacific North West – hence my “scatter-gun” approach!!!Attached is the (hopefully, self-explanatory!) registration package for this year’s Family Gathering at Crescent Beach, just south of Vancouver, BC.Starting at 4.00 pm on Friday June 20 and finishing at 2.00 pm on Sunday June 22, the weekend will largely follow the successful format of the many previous family gatherings at this ideal location. Plenty of opportunities, for latihan, testing, walks beside the ocean, visits to the nearby village for ice-cream and other treats, catching up with old friends, making new ones and simply hanging out, relaxing and doing nothing! We would really like to encourage you to bring your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (and even someone else’s children!), to this child-friendly spot. Adena and Michelle von Hahn have lots of great ideas for youth activities, some of which might also attract the child in us older members. If you want to sleep over (see the options in the registration package), but are unable to bring bedding with you, some bedding and towel packages will be available, thanks to Paul Edwards. Please note this on your registration.Kumari Beck has volunteered to cater dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday morning and the remaining meals will be provided by the Centre. Snacks will be provided for those “in-between meal” nibbles.
And, of course, there will be the usual cultural (entertainment) evening on Saturday. Ramon Kubicek (SICA Canada) will be coordinating those willing to share their talents, so please contact him if you would like to participate at almadore@yahoo.com
The attached package lists the various registration options for overnight and day visitors. Meals can be ordered as a package for the whole weekend or separately, as required. Despite a significant increase in the rental rate for the use of the Alexandra Centre, thanks to another generous contribution by Subud Vancouver we have managed to keep the registration rates as affordable as possible. However, if the cost is prohibitive for you, financial support is available. Please don’t be shy to ask!
This has been a very popular event in recent years, and in 2024 we maxed out the capacity of the Dining Room!I expect this year to be the same, so encourage you to register as soon as possible, to guarantee yourself a spot. You will note the following registration deadlines:Early Bird registration: May 13, 2025Final registration: June 13, 2025All information is contained in the attached package but, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by email (davehhitchcock@gmail.com) or at 250 370 1291.Your Organizing Team and Western Regional Helpers look forward to receiving your registrations and welcoming you to Crescent Beach! All the best,Dave HitchcockGathering OrganizerSO PLEASE DON’T DELAY, REGISTER TODAY!!!!

Reminder, Important Meeting Sunday!

Hello everyone!
I am putting the motion & voting for the heating and cooling system on hold.
It has been pointed out to me that what we agreed on at the last meeting is not exactly what we presented in the email for a vote. It seems we have failed to allow discussion on all the options open to us, since we last got together.
Our process is to use Robert’s Rules of Order, which is to include discussion about anything we do, before we take action. There is more information to discuss, before we proceed with a vote. We plan to discuss and vote on these issues during the meeting.
It helps if as many people attend this meeting as possible, as it is very difficult to present in writing later. I apologize for the inconvenience this may be causing any of our members.
Therefore, I am asking us to come together for a follow up General Meeting to be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, after Latihan.
This meeting does not correspond with open house that weekend .so we will need to hold the meeting in the Men’s Latihan Hall at 12:30 p.m. right after Latihan. To be clear, there is no open house that weekend.
Please bring a dish to share. The more people that bring a dish, the better.
The reason we are not having the meeting after Latihan on April 6, 2025, is because that is the day of the official memorial in Skagit for Rosalyn Neel.
You may call me with any questions or concerns,”
