Rentals Return!

Now that iTrip Vacations Seattle is up and running, we already have two confirmed house rentals that will carry us into the new year. One starts December 13th and goes through the 22nd, and the other starts December 26th and goes through January 2nd. iTrip Vacations uses 80+ platforms to advertise, so we are hopeful that the whole house rentals will continue to grow in 2021.

Ibu’s Thanksgiving

We in America are celebrating Thanksgiving this week (Happy Thanksgiving!), but our very own Ibu Rahayu celebrated her 75th birthday March 13th with an American Thanksgiving table as well as the traditional Indonesian rice mountain and condiments!

Men ‘s Tuesday Latihan

A few men are once again doing Tuesday Latihan in person at 10 AM. The latihans are limited to 4 men, wearing masks and keeping social distance, and they are disinfecting all touched surfaces afterwards. If any men are interested in attending, they should check in with Evan Padilla or Paul Nelson to make sure that the group size does not exceed 4 people.

October Treasurer’s Report

SGS Treasurer Summary Report: October

Income and expenses

Building Rentals

We had a no AirBnB or Hall Rentals in October. Income from our new relationship with iTrip is not expected until the beginning of 2021.

Donations

Donations dipped in October. We have been able to average $1,816 a month in donations, due primarily to a couple of members providing large donations, and, due also to our regular contributing members. Thank you to those who contribute! Your steady level of support has helped us stay within our 2020 budget needs during this extraordinary time.

October Expenses

Our expenses have been kept to the minimum required to keep the building healthy and looking great for potential renters. We are able to continue to pay for cleaning, gas, electricity, water and garbage.

Our main outflows in October were related to the September water damage. The cost for the cleanup was $5,485. Farmers Insurance reimbursed us for $4,485 of the costs. We paid the $1,000 deductible.

Future Expenses

Your committee continues to monitor and keep our costs as low as possible. There are some expenses needed to prepare the building for our new rental agency, iTrips. iTrips is also helping us keep costs low until we start to generate income. We will continue to manage our costs to drive them down in any way we can.

Your Donations As Important As Ever

Your committee appreciates everyone’s financial support of our center during this time of great transition for all of us.  Your continued donations are vital if we are to cover our costs through the end of the year.  Thank you for your continued support.

Important! New name for donation checks to Subud Greater Seattle

Use only “Subud PNW – Seattle Center” on any future donations to our center.  Bank rules, recently changed, are delaying deposits.  Please be sure to change the “Pay To The Order Of” section of your handwritten or automatic withdrawn check from your account and use this name.

If you intend to make your donation to the Region, please earmark your check Subud PNW.

Pledges still being accepted

Please fill out a pledge form online if you haven’t already.

Thanks for those who have setup monthly donations

Thanks to all our monthly donators who have a recurring donation sent from their bank.  You save on envelopes and stamps.  And, you don’t have to remind yourselves to write a check. These regular checks really help us meet our monthly commitments to the region and pay for our use of our facilities.

If you’d like to know how to setup a recurring donation to our group through your bank, please contact me, Oswald Norton.

Call-In Latihan on Friday nights!

We are continuing to have call in latihans on Friday nights for all members.  The call-in number is 1-425-436-6260 and the code for men is 8632438 and for the ladies 2426147.   We can experience the latihan whenever or wherever we are and it can be as strong as in the physical group!  I would encourage members to join in and try it!

The way it works is that we call the number (1-425-436-6269) and give the code ( men 8632438 and ladies 2426147) , then announce our name when joining.  There is a quiet period from 7:45 PM till 8:00 PM, then the helper assigned will announce the beginning of the latihan.  You can listen with your phone or you can mute the voices if that is a distraction.  Usually at the end of the latihan we have a check-in to share how we are coping with life, health, changes, etc.  This has been a valued addition!  Please join us!  Keep safe!
