Dear Subud Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you for allowing me to use the Subud House for the recent Cascadia Poetry Festival. I have blogged about it here:

http://paulenelson.com/2014/05/09/cascadia-poets-get-a-taste-of-the-latihan/ and want to thank Ray Brown, Hadiyah Carlyle, Marston Gregory, Julia Hurd, Oswald and Rayma Norton and others for their support of this dream come true. It appears at least one person is considering getting opened in Subud. Wow!

Sincerely,

Paul Nelson

Heads-Up: a very special Latihan Kejiwaan on June 22 around the world

By Aryanadi Chahyono on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 6:04pm

Dearest all brothers and sisters,

June 22 is coming sooner, it is the day when YM Bapak Subuh was born in dawn. YM Bapak Subuh was born on June 22 at dawn (Subuh time) in Central Java, Indonesia. We are going to schedule in Indonesia a very special Latihan Kejiwaan at the time and date when YM Bapak Subuh was born that is on June 22 at 5 am.

Please kindly spread the words, tell your Subud friends and let everyone in your Subud group knows about this. It would be nice if we all can do this very special latihan Kejiwaan together at the same time and date according to your local time zone (simultaneously).

Please find the website for converting local zone time:http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ & http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/

Have a wonderful Latihan Kejiwaan:-)

(This is 3P on Sunday, June 22, right?, ed.)

The Cascadia Poetry Festival (May 1-4) is utilizing the Subud House for several events. This is great outreach for Subud and for our Centerprise. There will be no latihans Thursday, May 1 and Saturday, May 3. Latihans will continue on the Eastside Wednesday and Friday, as scheduled. Please plan accordingly. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Also, there is a new door code. Please see Paul to get that code if you are a helper, or open the house for latihan regularly.

Looking for Subud Volunteers to Promote Spring Street Center

At the Cascadia Poetry Festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 2,3,4.

We’ll need volunteers for the Cascadia Poetry Festival to staff a table to give information on Subud and Spring Street Center. This is GREAT P.R. for Subud and the rental business and Oswald is coordinating volunteers. Gold Passes, good for any event during the fest (May 1-4) will be given to volunteers to attend events and they ARE transferable.

For more details click here.

Poetry, No Latihans

Dear Subud Greater Seattle Members,

Cascadia_Header_2

Cascadia Poetry Festival

Due to the 2nd Cascadia Poetry Festival May 1-4, there will not be regular latihan Thursday, May 1, and Saturday, May 3, but there WILL BE latihan Wednesday, April 30 and Friday, May 1 (both on the Eastside) and Sunday, May 4 at the Subud House. Volunteers are still needed to staff the booth at the festival’s Small Press Fair, about 4 blocks from the Subud House on the campus of Seattle U. Please coordinate with Oswald Norton.

The festival itself will feature readings, panels, a workshop and late night programming. A free daily Living Room is open to the public for poets to read their original work, from 3-5 Fri-Sunday at the Subud House. Over 60 poets will be featured throughout the weekend, including at least 20 from Canada.

This is a great bit of cultural outreach for the house and for Subud, so thanks for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Paul Nelson
